Critical Skills Employment Permit

Ireland's employment permit for highly skilled occupations on the Critical Skills Occupations List. The permit is issued only against a job offer of at least two years' duration, and the Department of Enterprise sets minimum annual remuneration at EUR 40,904 for a restricted number of strategically important occupations held with a relevant degree, EUR 36,848 where the qualification was obtained within 12 months of application, and EUR 68,911 for all other eligible occupations. Once the permit and registration card expire, the holder may apply to the Department of Justice for Stamp 4 permission, which allows residence and work without a further employment permit and is granted for two years and is then renewable. Stamp 4 is a renewable permission, not permanent residence: long-term residence and naturalisation run on Ireland's ordinary five-year reckonable-residence clock. Dependants may access the labour market. Distinct from the closed Immigrant Investor Programme and from STEP.
