Citizenship at birth in Guyana

Constitution art. 43 makes every person born in Guyana a citizen at the date of birth, whatever the parents' nationality or status; the provisos exclude only children of accredited envoys and of enemy aliens born in enemy-occupied territory. Art. 48(1)(b) entrenches art. 43 against statutory deprivation.
